IAC Accredited Vein Centers

Vein Specialists Earns Vein Center Accreditation by IAC Bonita Springs, Florida (May 2018)– Vein Specialists’ Fort Myers and Bonita Springs locations earn Vein Center Accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) making them the ONLY accredited Vein Center in Southwest Florida and one of nine total accredited Vein Centers in the State of Florida.

More than 40 Million Americans are affected by varicose veins and other signs or symptoms of venous insufficiency, the underlying cause of varicose veins. Venous insufficiency or venous reflux disease exists when the valves in the leg veins no longer function, causing venous blood to pool in the legs. In many cases patients may present with varicose veins, but the condition often progresses to more serious stages including leg swelling, skin discoloration, thickening and possible venous ulceration.

Whether to relieve symptoms and/or improve appearance, treating venous insufficiency is best performed by vein centers which specialize in the dedicated evaluation and management of superficial venous disorders. There are many factors that contribute to accurate vein treatment and management. The training and experience of the vein specialist performing the procedure, the type of equipment used and the quality assessment metrics each facility is required to measure, all contribute to a positive patient outcome. IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and physician and staff dedication to continuous quality and procedural improvement.

Both of Vein Specialists’ locations have been granted accreditation by the IAC in Vein Center in the area of Superficial Venous Treatment and Management. Accreditation by the IAC indicates that Vein Specialists has undergone an intensive application and review process and has been found to be in compliance with the published Standards of care for Vein Disease, thus demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care in vein treatment and management.
