Joseph G. Magnant, MD, FACS, RPVI
Dr. Joseph Magnant earned his Doctorate in Medicine from The Medical College of Virginia in 1985. He completed his General Surgery internship and residency at the Medical College of
Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia where he received the I.A. Bigger award for surgical teaching as a Chief Resident. He performed his Vascular Surgery fellowship at the
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire and is current in his certification by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery. He is an active member of The Society for Vascular Surgery as well as The American College of Phlebology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He
practiced arterial and venous vascular surgery for 14 years (1992-2006) after completion of his fellowship in vascular surgery.
He decided to further define and focus the scope of his practice to strictly venous disease management in 2005 and relocated to Fort Myers to open Vein Specialists in 2006. His goal as a
board certified vascular surgeon was to create a stand alone outpatient center of vein care excellence. Since the first patient walked through the doors of Vein Specialists in June 2006, he
and his dedicated staff have continued their educational outreach efforts in local communities through periodic community educational seminars and patient screenings.
